What to prepare for Your Telehealth Physical Therapy Visit? To ensure a smooth and effective telehealth session, please take the following steps to set up your space appropriately: Choose a Quiet, Well-Lit Space – Select a private area with minimal background noise and good lighting so we can clearly see and hear you during the session. Natural light or a well-placed lamp can improve visibility. Position Your Device Properly – Use a laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a stable internet connection. Position your device at eye level or slightly above, ensuring that your entire body can be visible when needed for movement assessments. A stable surface or tripod may be helpful. Have Enough Space to Move – Make sure you have a clear, open space to perform exercises. An area approximately 6x6 feet is ideal, allowing room for standing, stretching, and floor exercises if needed. Use Headphones or a Speaker – If possible, use headphones or an external speaker for better audio clarity and to minimize background noise. Wear Appropriate Clothing – Dress in comfortable, flexible clothing that allows for movement and makes it easy to assess the area being treated (e.g., shorts for a knee evaluation or a sleeveless top for a shoulder assessment). Gather Any Equipment – If your session requires resistance bands, a foam roller, or other therapy tools, have them nearby. If you’re unsure what you need, feel free to ask in advance. Test Your Technology – Ensure your camera, microphone, and internet connection are working properly before your appointment. If using a telehealth platform, log in a few minutes early to troubleshoot any technical issues. By following these steps, we can maximize the effectiveness of your virtual visit and keep your treatment on track. If you have any questions or concerns about setting up for your session, feel free to reach out!
